"Maybe breaking a cycle doesn’t always look like rebellion. Maybe sometimes it looks like integration. Discernment. Balance. Align yourself not only in reaction to who your parents are or aren’t, but in response to who you needed." Thank you for this line because damn I needed this because I love my parents but I don't want to be like them and that's for both the good and bad reasons but still I somehow catch them in myself and I don't like that version of me.

I think it's very normal to find similarities, but being self-aware enough to notice when you're slipping into a version of them you don't like… I think that's a wonderful step to take in changing cycles for the better.

Thank you Sakshi, for reading✨️❤️

This you wrote here is so apt. I've been observing myself and noticing similar traits from my parents to me. Growing up I seemed like a blueprint of my mom. Seeing my mom didn't gain anything from being so kind in this wicked world I consciously chose the opposite. Like I'm afraid if becoming her and also dreading becoming my dad. I'm really avoiding walking in their shoes in several aspect of my life. Thank you so much for this.

Thank you so much for reading. ❤️

I guess it's a natural thing to want to do opposite of something that felt wrong growing up, but recognising what to extent is really important.

I'm proud of you for recognising the patterns.

My mom is somewhat a blueprint for me, I admire her in so many ways that I can count but like a blueprint, I can see errors and I rectify immediately. My dad on the other hand serves as a guide to the things I won’t ever tolerate in my future spouse 😂.

That's so real😂😭

"honouring what shaped you without letting it define your existence." 🤍🔥

There are many things about me that I took from my parents and at the same time, there are many things that I am because I'm trying not to be like my parents in those aspects. Now, am I doing those things 'cause of my background or am I doing them for the woman I'm becoming? That, I can't really say.

Thanks for this food for thought, Amora. 🤍✨
